This organisation Provide general nursing, curative and public health services and midwifery services. Family planning services, as well as, outreach programmes to remote areas in the community. This placement needs volunteers to help with out patient department duties. Also, attend to pregnant women, nursing mothers and their babies. This placement requires volunteers who have a medical background. Bobikuma is an enchanting community; filled with an energy that captivates the soul. While staying in Bobikuma you will be taken in as part of the community due the small town feel. Most of the community members of Bobikuma are farmers; therefore there is a possibility for you to learn how farming is done in Ghana.
Volunteers must be of age 18 or above with minimum education of Undergraduation. Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:-
Doctor Nurse Medical Student Pre-Med Student Emergency Medical Technician Standard First-Aid Health & Hygiene Training HIV/AIDS Awareness Training Medical Administration Public Health
Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:-
Outreach programs- implementing workshops on HIV/AIDS, malaria prevention and family planning Immunization Blood tests Assisting patients and helping to assess what is wrong with patient visiting the homes of pregnant woman in the community Writing of reports Assisting with filing and keeping of records Outreach programmes, child welfare clinic, family planning, delivering babies (these are all dependant upon the capability of the volunteer)
